Illustration made with digital painting on iPad Pro and Procreate, for the #versionathyssen contest of the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza, Madrid.
The work chosen to cover in this case was “Nymph in a fountain” by Arnold Böcklin, 1855 (first image on the left above this text).
Inspiration: “I thought I saw one of the giant trees protecting the forest, watching a young woman enjoy the peace and beauty of being surrounded by a natural environment. A woman far from being a Nymph; Guardian of the forest, she also protected and respected nature, because she felt grateful to be able to be in it.
A landscape that would look very different if those who inhabit it began to disappear”.
